Christoph Neidhart is a Swiss writer and journalist based in Japan, he was the German daily Süddeutsche Zeitung's Tokyo bureau chief from 2007 until 2019. Before moving to Japan in 2002, he covered Russia, Eastern Europe and Scandinavia, living in Moscow and St. Petersburg from 1990 until 1997. He spent 4 years as a visiting scholar at Harvard's Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies. Neidhart publishes in German and English.
